Rahul Dravid. The Timeless Steel

Finally i got something to write, something to make all my friends bore ;), but i do really think that for the one , i am writing is very  modest, classy,  brave, gentleman ,perfectionist  ,dedicated, inspiring  living legend and the most importantly my favorite, reading this will be worthy for all of you.

Although i am a  not technical person for the cricket game, so as i can't say about any of the technical strength or weakness of him .Initially when i had started to watch cricket and specially one days or test matches, i used to watch playing him , and as i was a kid and not know about him, i used to comment "ab sari balls waste karega ye to" . but as  time passes out i realizes that i was so wrong.because when people have the prerequisites in their mind they always misjudge and i also belong to the same house.  :(

The day when i read an article about Rahul Dravid stating that he was the greatest player of cricket in world but most of the time of  his performances were overshadowed  because of Sachin  and Saurov.Sanjay Manjrekar was saying in his interview that if Dravid had played in 70's and 80's , the life should have been easier for him . Those were the times when leaving a ball got nods of approval and admiration from spectators as well as the bowlers like Malcolm marshall , Ian bishop &  michael holding etc. Don't know fortunately or unfortunately  according to me Dravid played most of his cricket in an era  when playing defensive is considered as handicapped as far as modern cricket is concerned.

But his pull shot and  wristy classy shot will always be remembered. Thanks to Mr. majrekar whose article makes me understand the other aspect of defensive cricket.

The thing that is most impressive about this gentleman  is that how much he loves his game,as although he was aware about the existence of politics in the game, but he still say that "this game has given to me so much in the life that i will never bitter".On receiving PADAM SHRI Award in 2004, this legend reply that don't say me the Hero, and you guys are using  Hero Word very carelessly because according to him the real hero  are soldiers ,scientist and doctors.
Heads off to this modest and a great   player & personality of the INDIAN CRICKET.
